Before meeting with a study abroad adviser, students must attend a Study Abroad 101 session in OIS. Led by returnee Goucher Study Abroad Students, the session lasts approximately 30 minutes followed by the opportunity to talk one-on-one with Goucher students who have gone abroad. Study Abroad 101 covers topics such as how to explore program options, apply for a study abroad program, obtain academic credit for study abroad, and organize financial matters.

After attending a Study Abroad 101, students must attend a Study Abroad 102 session. This session, led by a study abroad adviser, will provide students with more specific information about the region and program in which they are interested. Study abroad advisers will also walk students through the application process in these sessions. Study Abroad 101 and 102 are mandatory. Students must attend both sessions before meeting individually with an adviser.
