Summer Orientation
The purpose of Summer Orientation is to provide first-time, first-year students the information they need to successfully obtain classes for the fall semester, interact and connect with faculty, staff, and students, obtain departmental information related to their potential majors, and learn about student life opportunities as a Goucher student.
Summer Orientation 2013 will take place Monday, June 10 and Tuesday, June 11. Students only need to attend one of these days. Students interested in taking dance classes or equestrian classes should plan to attend Summer Orientation on Tuesday, June 11 to participate in placement tests to determine the appropriate class level.
The incoming student will receive an email with more specific details closer to the date of Summer Orientation. For planning purposes, students invited to take a foreign language placement or students planning to take the music theory, dance, or equestrian placements will need to arrive on campus by 7:30 a.m. Students not taking placement exams will need to be on campus by 9:00 a.m. The program will conclude by 4:30 p.m. that afternoon. For those who are booking a flight, we recommend leaving Baltimore after 7:00 p.m. to accommodate for traffic.
