Housing Proxy Process

In order for you to have priority based on your class year during room drawings, you should have a proxy notice on file. For Spring Room Draw (i.e., for housing for the fall semester), this proxy form allows another current Goucher student to draw a room for you according to your choices and based on availability. For Spring Room Draw (i.e., for housing for the fall semester), students need to note preferences and indicate who will be serving as their proxy for the Room Draw process. 

What is a "Proxy"? 
A proxy is someone you trust to select a room on your behalf. The proxy you select should bring his or her own ID and your room draw card at the appropriate time to select a room for you. It is wise to choose a proxy representative who is in a different class, or who is not drawing a room so that their room selection doesn't interfere with your drawing. The proxy's selection is final.

Proxies for students currently abroad:
If you are serving as a proxy for someone currently abroad, you will receive both your own room draw card and information regarding the student that you are serving as a proxy for in your Goucher email. You should report to room draw at the time scheduled for the person abroad, and bring your own ID and the room draw number of the person abroad. You will choose your own room at your designated time.

If You Are Abroad for the full 2012-2014 year or during the Spring 2013 semester or will not be able to attend the Room Draw 2013 process:
If you have been abroad for the entire academic year or will not be able to attend Room Draw, please complete the Housing Proxy Form for Room Draw 2013 and indicate whom you have selected to be your Proxy for the Room Draw Process.

Students returning for the Spring 2013 semester:
The Office of Community Living will assign rooms in order of class rank over winter break in January 2013. You must submit your room preferences to the Office of Community Living  during the fall of 2012. You will be emailed regarding this during the fall of 2011.  If you are returning for the Spring 2013 semester, please complete the Housing Proxy Form form for Spring 2013 Housing.
