The Center for Race, Equity and Identity promotes a living and learning environment dedicated to our community principles of respect, communication, inclusion, service and social justice.   The office engages in outreach to—and support for—all underrepresented students, especially students of color (African American, Latino, Asian American, Native American and multiracial); first generation and socioeconomically disadvantaged students; LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer) students; and international students. The office provides programming that celebrates particular cultures, identities, and religious backgrounds; facilitates cross-cultural dialogue; and provides opportunities to reflect on experiences of difference and the corollary discoveries about power, privilege, and oppression.
