In the fall of 2006, Goucher College became the first college in the nation to require all of its undergraduates to study abroad at least once before graduation. Beginning with the class of 2010 (the incoming first-year class of 2006), Goucher will give each student a voucher of at least $1,200 to help cover travel expenses.
We believe that international awareness is a requirement for anybody who wants to lead a satisfying and successful life in the global community of today-- and we offer a wide range of opportunities to help our students develop that awareness.

Remember to mark your calendar for a mandatory pre-departure orientation at 4:00 on December 7th in Kelley Lecture Hall. Please contact Angie Shaeffer if you will be unable to attend. Spring 2009 deadlines have passed. If you are interested in study abroad for Summer or Fall 2009, you are welcome to make an appointment with OIS. Contact OIS to schedule an advising appointment. January 2010 ICA programs will be announced in February 2009. Towson University will sponsor a series of events to celebrate International Education Week in November. |

| If you are planning to study abroad, get your passport ASAP! Due to recent policy changes regarding U.S. passports, new applicants are waiting longer for their passports. If you do not yet have a passport and plan to study abroad, please apply for a passport as soon as possible. |

| Policy Regarding Physicals for Study Abroad Programs Goucher College requires that all students attending Goucher-sponsored study abroad programs undergo a physical examination conducted by their primary health care provider and submit a Goucher College health form completed by the provider to the Office of International Studies. |
