The Sklar Brothers Bring Tag-Team Comedy to Goucher College

Best known as the hosts of ESPN Classic’s “Cheap Seats,” twin comedians Randy and Jason Sklar have had an impressive career run. They have had their own MTV sitcom, and a half-hour Comedy Central special, and the have appeared on most of the major national television networks, including ABC, CBS, Fox, HBO, NBC, and the WB. The Sklar brothers hit Goucher College’s Kelley Lecture Hall on Saturday, February 25 at 7 p.m. Sponsored by the SGA Social Committee, the show is free to members of the Goucher community, $2 for the general public. Originally from St. Louis, the Sklar brothers have spent a lifetime developing their unique comedic timing—“a tag-team delivery in which one talks over the end of the other’s sentence, completing, adding to or reaffirming his comment (much like the raps of the Beastie Boys,” according to the New York Times.

The Sklars kicked off their career in the late ’90s, when MTV aired their short-lived sitcom “Apartment 2F.” At the time, The Hollywood Reporter raved that the Sklars “could be the Seinfelds of the late ’90s.”

In the last three years, Randy and Jason Sklar have been seen regularly on national television, performing stand-up comedy on Comedy Central, guest-starring on CBS’s “Becker,” NBC’s “Providence,” ABC’s “It’s Like, You Know,” and Fox’s “Action.” They also have been featured on NBC’s “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” CBS’s “Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn,” and Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend,” and they’re slated to guest-star on the new season of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
