Where do I find appropriate content for a research paper?

When it comes to doing research for a paper or talk, GOOGLE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND.  Search engines spit out thousands of random pages, without any indication of reliability, authenticity, accuracy, or (and most importantly) whether they have been subjected to the rigorous peer review that constitutes a primary source of information.  Here are a few helpful articles on where to find good and bad material, how to distinguish the two, and how to make the web your friend.
