The Digital Arts Portfolio is a core component of the program, part of all classes, and developed throughout the course of study. It is also one of the key benefits of the Digital Arts program. Students graduate with a solid, well-rounded body of work to present to the world that has been critiqued and refined by professionals in the student's field. The portfolio reflects our students' diverse talents, and might take the form of a video reel, website, multimedia presentation, CD or set of streaming media pieces, animation, series of compositions, or anything else our students might imagine.
Student portfolios should include at minimum works from all of the following categories:
- At least two (and not more than four) original works of static imagery, including a written description of the work. A single work may be a collection of images.
- At least one (and not more than three) original work(s) of video imagery, including a written description of the work. A single work may be a collection of videos
- At least two (and not more than four) original works of a primarily sonic nature, including a written description of the work. A single work may be a collection of sonic artifacts
- Documentation of at least one (and not more than three) interactive work(s), including video footage and a description of the work.
- Documentation of at least one PMGT project that relates to the digital arts.
- Of these works, there must be at least one collaborative work documented.
- Of these works, there must be at least three individual (non-collaborative) works documented.
- Some of these works may overlap in definition (such as the inclusion of sonic work within a video); however, there will be a minimum of seven distinctive artistic works plus the PMGT documents in a complete portfolio.
- Only work created after the student's first day of classes in the Digital Arts program may be included.
- Go to Goucher Learn (http://learn.goucher.edu)
- Log in with your Goucher username and password
- Click on the Goucher e-Portfolios link at the bottom left-hand corner of the page
- You will be logged into the Goucher e-Portfolio system (this is the moment that your portfolio will be created; it does not exist until you log in the first time)
Be sure to share your portfolio with the Academic Director and your Capstone Adviser at minimum. You are welcome to additionally share your portfolio with other students, instructors, etc.
- Go to Portfolio
- Go to Share
- Click on the Edit icon under "Edit access" for the collection that you would like to share
- Click on "Share with other users and groups"
- Click on the dropdown box and change the value from "Friends" to "Users"
- Type in the name of the person and hit Enter
- The name of the person should be displayed
- Click on the Add button next to the name of the person
- The person that you have added will be displayed
- Click on the Save button
- NOTE: If the person is not displayed during the search, check the spelling of the name or use part of the name for the search. If the name cannot be found, contact the person to be sure that they are a part of the Goucher e-portfolio system. If they are not they should access the system or you can share your portfolio using the Secret URL technique.
