Presenting the 2024 Summer Writing Fellows

Each year, the Kratz Center for Creative Writing offers summer writing fellowships that range from between $2,000 to $4,000. This year’s winners are:

Author Visit and Reading from Jane Delury

The Kratz Center is honored to host author Jane Delury for a reading from her newest novel Hedge, which was a pick from both People Magazine and Oprah this past summer. Her previous novel The Balcony won the Sue Kaufman Prize for First Fiction in 2019. Delury’s stories have been printed in The Yale Review and Narrative Magazine, among others.

The reading will be held in the Soper Room on February 20th at 7 P.M.

2023-2024 Kratz Editorial Fellows

The Kratz Editorial Fellows are selected each year to advise on senior projects for creative writing student at the George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology in nearby Towson. Each Kratz Editorial Fellow is paired with a high school senior at Carver to support the completion of their writing thesis under the supervision of Literary Arts Director Rebecca Mlinek.
