How do faculty, staff, and department offices make a long distance call?
Long Distance calls that are made from faculty, staff, or office telephones will require the use of an authorization code. After you have dialed the long distance number, you will hear a tone. When you hear the tone, please enter the authorization code.

To make a Long Distance call:
Dial 9 + 1 + Area Code + 7-Digit Number + Wait for the Tone + Last 5 Digits

To make an International call:
Dial 9 + 011 + Country Code + City Code + Number + Wait for the Tone + Last 5 Digits

To make a toll-free call:
Dial 9 + 1 + 10-Digit Toll Free Number

Faculty and staff must obtain an authorization code from the Help Desk in order to make a long distance call.
