Replacing Your OneCard

Lost or Stolen OneCards

Because your OneCard contains so much vital information, it is very important that you take every precaution to prevent it from being damaged, lost, or stolen. There is a $15 fee to replace your lost card. Photo identification (preferably government issued) will be required to provide a new or replacement OneCard.

Never give your card to anyone. If you lose your card, report it immediately to the Office of Public Safety at 410-337-6112.

Damaged OneCards

If your OneCard fails to work for any reason, please take it to the Office of Public Safety in Heubeck Hall. If we can't fix the problem, we'll provide you with a new card. There is a $15 fee to replace your card.

We will not charge you to replace your card under the following circumstances:

  • If card becomes defective due to normal usage (e.g., magnetic strip becomes scratched from extensive use).
  • If the ink or lettering has leeched off, and the type appears gray.
  • If you are submitting a legal name change or title change or correcting a Social Security Number.

Hole Punching your OneCard

Never punch a hole in your OneCard. There is a magstripe on the rear of the card and a computer chip embedded in the OneCard that activates the proximity reader door access system. Punching a hole in your OneCard could damage the magstripe or the chip, rendering your OneCard useless. If this occurs, it will require you to replace the OneCard at your cost.
