Amy Marshall was born in Kyoto, Japan, and raised in Sandwich, New Hampshire. She graduated from Goucher with a B.A. in both dance and theater with Honors in dance, danced in several prestigious professional companies, and created the Amy Marshall Dance Company in 2000.
After performing with renowned companies such as the Parsons Dance Company and Taylor 2, Paul Taylor's second company, Marshall has formed her own--the Amy Marshall Dance Company. The AMDC was formed in 2000, and made its performance debut at the Goucher Summer Arts Institute that same year.
Since then, the company has gained national recognition by staging modern dance performances and teaching workshops at colleges across the country, including Webster University, Stockton University, and Winthrop University. In 2003, Marshall served as a panelist for the Joyce SoHo Presents Spring Concert Series in New York City, and adjudicated at the American College Dance Festival at Plymouth State College, NH.
Marshall currently resides in New York City, where she runs her company with her husband, Chad Levy. The pair also runs their own personal training business, Marshall/Levy Training.
