Recent Publications/Presentations/Performances

My most recent academic and artistic research has centered on exploring the parallels between drama, portraiture and history as manifested in the convergence of different disciplines, eras and cultures.

Currently, I am writing a play cycle that dramatizes the intense, intimate process of portraiture, as well as the long term, wide-ranging interpersonal and global impact on its subjects and artists.

FULBRIGHT SPECIALIST RESIDENCY: OUR TOWN: CHINA/USA

Based on my research of American author Thornton Wilder, I was in residence at City University of Hong Kong as a Fulbright Specialist scholar, U.S. Studies/Theatre, in 2011. At "CityU," I created a devised theatre piece and workshop model that utilizes western and Chinese narrative techniques and incorporates oral history, personal anecdotes, music and movement.    "Our Town At 75: Its Global, Personal Impact"

In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of this seminal American drama, I published an article on my Hong Kong experience with "Our Town" in the Sept/Oct 2013 issue of The Dramatist Magazine (click here to read article)
