Program Goals
  1. Students will understand the artistic, social, political, economic and historical environment in which they and their organizations work. They will understand the interconnectedness of these systems and how to work effectively within and through them.
  2. Students will have basic competencies in, and an ability to communicate about, essential managerial functions including advocacy, financial management, resource development, legal issues pertaining to the arts, human resource management, technology skills, and marketing and public relations.
  3. Students will understand organizational dynamics, particularly in a nonprofit environment, including board and staff roles, strategic thinking, leadership, ethics and integrity, an ability to work with diverse groups of people, relationship-building, and stewardship of an organization and its resources.
