Aoyama Gakuin University
Located in central Tokyo, Aoyama Gakuin College is a vibrant educational and research community well-known for its international ambiance and exchange programs. Goucher students will enroll in Japanese language and culture courses, and have the option to take English-language courses in some subjects (including International Politics, Economics, Sciences, Business, and Communications) alongside Aoyama Gakuin's 20,000+ undergraduates.
Osaka Program: Japan and East Asian Studies
This program aims to promote a better understanding of the cultural, religious, social, economic and political aspects of Japan and its neighbors through intensive courses, a home stay program, cultural excursions and activities.
Sacred Space, the Forbidden Forest, and Nature's Place in Contemporary Japan
During this three-week Intensive Course Abroad, students will visit the sacred Shinto temples and shrines of Japan to explore the intimate spiritual relationship with nature as an aspect of Shintoism while learning about traditional Japanese art and storytelling.
