Belgium: French Field Study and Internship Programs, Brussels

Type of Program: Semester
City: Brussels, Belgium
Cost: See Program Costs page

Through intensive coursework, seminars on European issues, a 12-week internship, and an independent research project, the Internships in Francophone Europe (IFE) program in Brussels provides students with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in contemporary Belgium.  The IFE semester is a three-part program that prepares students thoroughly for their internship, accurately places them in a professional work environment, and advises them as they harmonize experience and reflection through writing.

IFE attracts applicants from reputable colleges and universities worldwide.  IFE applicants are evaluated not only on the basis of their academic and linguistic strengths, but also for their maturity, seriousness of purpose and ability to fit into a situation where independence, flexibility, and good will are expected.  IFE provides housing in families or student residences ("foyers").  Goucher students are encouraged to apply to IFE for a spring semester, as a complement to the fall Paris program.  Visit the IFE website.
