International Internships

International internships offer students an opportunity to expand their knowledge and understanding of unique cultures, ideas and people.  With a strong tradition of valuing experiential learning, Goucher provides various options to students who are interested in pursuing international internships.

Application Process

The Office of International Studies and the Career Development Office invite you to explore international internships as another opportunity to fulfill Goucher's study abroad requirement.  If you are pursuing a major that requires an internship, an international internship may fulfill both the study abroad requirement and your major's requirement.

International internships not only allow you to establish professional connections in your host country, but they also provide you with a unique global experience that may give your resume an additional edge in today's increasingly global economy. Goucher students may receive credit for three types of international internships: those embedded in Goucher study abroad programs; those embedded in non-Goucher study abroad programs; and independent international internships, which are secured outside of established study abroad programs.  If you decide to pursue an international internship, you should work closely with your academic advisor, the Career Development Office, and the Office of International Studies in order to secure approval and academic credit.
