Education

Sheila earned a Master of Music degree in saxophone performance from the University of Illinois, where she studied with Joseph Lulloff, and a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Massachusetts, where she studied with Lynn Klock.


Areas of Scholarly Expertise and Interest

Sheila teaches saxophone at Goucher College and maintains and active performing career in the Baltimore/Washington area. Before coming to Goucher College she spent 13 years with The United States Army Field Band, Washington D.C. While in the U.S. Army Field Band she served as principal alto saxophonist, featured soloist, clinician, lecturer, recitalist, and founding member of the Saxophone Quartet. She has performed in all 50 states, Europe and Canada as well as with the Boston Pops, Cincinnati Pops, and Detroit Symphony Orchestras. Sheila is currently serving in the D.C. National Guard Band, The 257th Army Band, "The Band of the Nations Capitol."
