Mathew Lane holds a bachelor's degree in music from Johns Hopkins University and a master's degree in piano performance from Towson University. His teachers have included Gordon Sparber, Vera Danchenko, Reynaldo Reyes, and Louis Shub.
Areas of Scholarly Expertise and Interest
At Goucher College, he teaches class musicianship classes and private piano instruction, in addition to accompanying student recitals and chamber music. He also serves as accompanist at Friends School of Baltimore for all choral and musical theater activities in their middle and upper schools. Other accompanying engagements have included the Maryland State Boychoir, the Towson University Vocal Jazz Ensemble, the Essex Community College Chorale, and the Baltimore Municipal Opera Company. In addition, he gives joint recitals with his wife Rebecca Rossello '96, a mezzo-soprano and graduate of Goucher College. They reside in Towson with their children.
