Judaic Studies Study Abroad
The Judaic studies program offers three study abroad programs.
Education in a Multicultural Israeli Society (1.5-3) (ED 272Y) [Does this exist?]
This course will provide fieldwork experience and lectures from the faculty of Ben Gurion University of Negev in Israel concerning education for Bedouin Arabs and Jewish immigrants from Ethiopia and the former Soviet Union.
Semester at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev
As an international student at BGU, you will study Hebrew language, in addition to choosing from a variety of courses taught in English that are designed to enhance and connect your experience in Israel. To compliment your academic studies, you will be encouraged to participate in volunteer service, which will deepen your knowledge and exposure to Israel and its people. You will live in dormitory apartments with Israeli students, providing you with the opportunity to practice your Hebrew and forge a genuine connection with Israelis. You will explore Israel on trips organized by the Overseas Student Program (OSP), where you will learn about the country's history, landscape and diverse traditions. For more information, click here.
Year or Semester at the University of Haifa
The University of Haifa is located at the edge of the Haifa, Israel's third largest city, located on the Mediterranean Sea. You will live and take classes with Israeli and international students. Students can take courses in academic fields including Hebrew, Arabic, religious and Jewish studies, communications, sociology, psychology, political Science, peace and conflict studies, and English literature. While in Israel, students can live in double- or single-occupancy apartment style dormitories. For more information, click here.
