Biography
Kathi Ferguson grew up in the dance world revolving around Frederick Franklin and his Company the National Ballet of Washington as well as her primary teacher who was a soloist that had danced for Balanchine. As she moved through life ballet was never in the background but always a source of physical and emotional energy. While having experienced many forms of dance (Can-Can, musical theater, ballroom and folk dance) Ms. Ferguson kept her dedication and interest foremost in ballet. After dancing professionally for the original Baltimore Ballet, companies in Michigan and the famed Ballet Galaxie tour of Taiwan (composed of the top professionals in the USA and Canada) she went on to complete courses in areas of her interest. During her years at Goucher College she has kept up with current teaching trends and demands using innovation management tools.
Ms. Ferguson choreographs at any opportunity and is currently working on a collaboration of the Opera, "Dido and Aeneas" with the Goucher music and theatre departments.
