Modern Guest Artist in Residence: Jennifer Archibald

Founder and Artistic Director of the Arch Dance Company in NYC, Jennifer Archibald graduated from the Alvin Ailey School and has performed across the U.S. in major venues such as the Kennedy Center, Aaron Davis Hall, Lincoln Theatre,  the Duke on 42nd St, Judson Memorial Church, and in Europe and Canada. She has staged numerous Off-Broadway shows and has worked with the casts of Bring in Da Noise and the musical Cats. She has choreographed for the Alvin Ailey School and her works have been twice featured at the Elan Awards.

Jennifer currently teaches at Steps on Broadway and Dance New Amsterdam(DNA) in New York. She teaches a unique fusion of Contemporary Jazz and Hip Hop. She also serves on the faculty of the Bates Dance Festival and the Florida Dance Festival. She has taught master classes at Princeton University, Jacksonville Community College, FAMU, Joy of Motion in D.C., Jackson School of the Arts, and the Bronx Hip Hop Academy.

 Jennifer Archibald will be coming to Goucher College to teach master classes and set a work on Goucher dancers for the Dancers in Action Fall Dance Concert.  Master classes are open to high-intermediate and advanced dancers.
