Goucher College Dance Department Participates in Baltimore County Dance Celebration

Goucher Dance will be participating in the first Baltimore County Dance Celebration, a month of dance beginning February 2014. We hope you can join us for any or all of the following events.

Meet the Artist with Nilas Martins
February 14, 2014, 6 p.m.
Todd Dance Studio
Goucher College

Meet Nilas Martins, former New York City Ballet principal dancer and co-director of the Academy of Nevada Ballet Theatre, and ballet guest artist in residence. Mr. Martins will set Episodes by George Balanchine and Bournonville Divertissements by August Bournonville on Goucher dancers while in residence. Enjoy the opportunity to ask questions, hear about his creative endeavors, and watch Goucher dancers in rehearsal for the upcoming Goucher Repertory Dance Ensemble Spring Concert on April 11 and 12.

Ballet Master Class with Nilas Martins
February 15, 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Nilas Martins, former principal dancer of NYCB, will give a master class for advanced dancers and professionals. Reservations should be made by contacting Elizabeth Ahearn at 410-337-6399 or at eahearn@goucher.edu.
Class fee $20.

Meet the Artists with Xan Burley and Alex Springer
February 28, 6:30 p.m.

Goucher College

Meet Xan Burley and Alex Springer of the Median Movement and modern guest artists in residence. The husband and wife team will set a work on Goucher dancers to be performed on the Goucher Repertory Dance Ensemble spring concert on April 11 and 12. Watch dancers in rehearsal and participate in a Q & A session.

Contemporary Dance Master Class with Xan Burley and Alex Springer

Goucher Repertory Dance Ensemble Concert
April 11, 7:30 p.m.
April 12, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Kraushaar Auditorium
Goucher College

The Goucher Repertory Dance Ensemble performs choreography by Xan Burley and Alex Springer, Episodes by George Balanchine and Bournonville Divertissements by August Bournonville set by Nilas Martins, and a new work by Goucher faculty member Karissa Horowicz.
$15 general admission; $5 students, senior citizens, and Goucher OneCard holders. Reserve tickets online at www.goucher.edu/tickets. Tickets go on sale in February.
