Adornamental

Adornamental features the work of seven artists who are breaking new ground in the decorative and ornamental arts. At times considered primarily feminine and removed from fine art, the decorative arts began to achieve an elevated status in 1975, with the creation of the Pattern and Decoration Movement.

Ambigous Bodies

Exhibit Dates: November 3rd through December 13th, 2009.

The human body can be interpreted in multiple and diverse ways. In the exhibition Ambiguous Bodies, the artists employ the idea of ambiguity, dismantling notions of the classical and ideal form, while simultaneously broadening the scope of the human form to include differences of beauty, race, sexuality, and gender.
