Advising is more than scheduling classes to take. At Goucher, advisers work closely with students to enhance inquiry, creativity, and critical and analytical thinking. Academic advising aims to help students identify realistic academic and career goals, make connections among courses in the curriculum, integrate learning, and focus on self-awareness and self-efficacy. Through academic advising, students learn to become members of Goucher College, to think critically about their roles and responsibilities as students, and to prepare to be educated citizens of a global community.
