The Maryland Transportation Administration has announced that the #11 bus stop located on the Goucher campus will be discontinued beginning Sunday, February 17, 2008.

In order to accommodate Goucher students, staff, and faculty who use that bus line, the MTA has created a new stop on its #3 line. The new stop is located on Fairmount Avenue at Towson Gate, near the Towsontown Center.

Bus riders to Goucher College can now take the #3 bus to the new stop on Fairmount and Towson Gate, walk up Towson Gate and turn left on Southerly.  From there, they can proceed past Edenwald and turn right onto the road that leads into the Goucher campus.

The #3 bus operates hourly and stops at major destinations of Goucher students, staff, and faculty, including Johns Hopkins University, Pennsylvania Station, Maryland Institute College of Art, and the Inner Harbor.  Schedules for the #3 bus are available at Goucher’s Information Desk, located in the Pearlstone Student Center.

The other bus line close to Goucher College is the #8, which has a stop at the corner of Fairmount Avenue and Dulaney Valley Road.

While we cannot change the decision of the MTA to discontinue the #11 stop, we are in contact with Baltimore County government officials to make sure there is adequate lighting and protection for those riders using the new #3 stop to travel to and from Goucher College.
