“The College Library in a Changing World”

Goucher College is holding a symposium titled “The College Library in a Changing World” on Wednesday, September 9, at 1:30 p.m., in the Hyman Forum of the Athenaeum.

The following distinguished panelists will discuss the future of the college library:

• Carla Diane Hayden, chief executive officer of the Enoch Pratt Free Library and Goucher College Board of Trustee member
• Kathryn Allamong Jacob ’72, curator of manuscripts at the Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Studies at Harvard University
• James Neal, vice president for information services and university librarian at Columbia University
• Joseph Rizzo, principal and library specialist for the RMJM Athenaeum project team
• Roberta Stevens, the outreach projects and partnerships officer at the Library of Congress, the project manager for the National Book Festival, and the president-elect of the American Library Association

A dessert reception will follow the discussion at 3 p.m. Tours of the library and Athenaeum will be given at 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

This program is part of a series of events to celebrate the opening of the Athenaeum and to launch the 125th anniversary of the college.
