Academic AdvisingAdvising is more than scheduling classes to take! Goucher faculty appreciate the individuality of each student. The adviser works closely with the student to enhance inquiry, creativity, and critical and analytical thinking. Academic advising aims to help the student identify realistic academic and career goals, make connections among courses in the curriculum, integrate learning, and focus on self – awareness and self-efficacy. Through academic advising, students learn to become members of Goucher College, to think critically about their roles and responsibilities as students, and to prepare to be educated citizens of a global community. This website is designed to assist both the advisee and the adviser and act as a resource for questions you may have about academic advising as well as a list of all the Academic Advisers, departmental links, and people you may need to see on campus. If your questions have not been answered by this site, or your Academic Adviser, you should call 410-337-6460 and make an appointment to see the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies or email her at AssociateDean@goucher.edu. |
