Important Power Outage Notice

On Monday, May 25, 2009 (Memorial Day) a planned power outage will take place at Goucher to allow maintenance to be done on the college’s high-voltage systems.  Please note that there will be no electrical power for the entire campus during this maintenance.  The power outage is scheduled to begin at 6:00 a.m., and power is expected to be restored no later than 6:00 p.m.

Students and staff living on campus and key personnel have been notified of the outage.  Please make sure you don’t leave perishable food in any refrigerators and, most important: shut your computer down before you leave for the weekend.   

Please note that, during the outage, the following campus technologies will NOT be available:

• Email
• Goucher website
• Blackboard
• myGoucher
• InsideGoucher
• New Student Portal
• Student Online Placement Exams
• FASTS: Financial Aid Information System
• SonicWall E-mail Security System
• Library Catalog and online Journals/Databases
• PowerCAMPUS
• Virtual Private Network (VPN) access
• Access to Darwin and Magellan personal or department network folders, documents, and files
• Access to the Internet from campus offices and buildings
• Wireless network connection on campus.

Ice will be available at the Facilities Management Services office if anyone needs to place perishable items in a cooler.  Contact Dave Myers at dmyers@goucher.edu to arrange for access to the ice machine.
