Update on Middle States Self-Study

March 23, 2009 |

The final version of the Middle States Self-Study has been completed and is available for viewing on Goucher's Middle States website.  You may access the report as a single document, or you can view each section of the self-study individually.  For easy reference, the site also contains a summary and recommendations for each accreditation standard.

Overall design

The report begins with an introduction to the college, followed by chapters that address each of the 14 accreditation standards developed by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.  Every chapter includes a summary of the strengths, challenges and opportunities, and recommendations that the working groups developed for the standard.  The report concludes with a discussion of the broad themes of the self-study and recommendations for next steps.

The Middle States Visiting Team will be on the Goucher campus from Sunday, March 29 through Wednesday, April 1.  The team will want to meet with various individuals and groups from the college, and team members are in the process of finalizing their meeting requests.  We will contact those people and groups with whom the Visiting Team wants to meet.

Thank to everyone in the campus community for your comments and suggestions regarding the draft of the self-study document.  Your remarks (which were used to revise the draft) are available in the Appendices and Reference Documents section of the website.

We send special thanks to those who served on a working group or as a member of the Steering Committee.  Your hard work and attention are greatly appreciated.
