Troubleshooting

Follow the tips below in order to ensure proper operation of Blackboard and the Live Classrooms. 

Allow Cookies

How to Allow Cookies in Netscape (PDF)

  • You need to enable cookies in order to post in the Discussion Board.
  • Choose one of the files attached above depending on your browser.
  • MAC users use Firefox.
  • PC users use Firefox or Internet Explorer.
  • Do not use the AOL browser; it is not compatible with Blackboard.

Clear Cookies

Perform these steps regularly.

  • Open your browser.
  • Go to TOOLS.
  • Go to INTERNET OPTIONS or OPTIONS.
  • Go to DELETE TEMPORARY FILES or DELETE COOKIES directly.
  • In Firefox go to PRIVACY.
  • In Internet Explorer go to GENERAL.
  • In Netscape go to PRIVACY.
  • Delete COOKIES.
  • Restart your browser.

Enable Pop-Ups

Firefox:

  • Go to TOOLS.
  • Choose OPTIONS.
  • Click on the CONTENT tab.
  • Uncheck BLOCK POP-UP WINDOW.

Internet Explorer:

  • Go to TOOLS.
  • Go to INTERNET OPTIONS.
  • Click on the PRIVACY tab.
  • Uncheck TURN ON POP-UP BLOCKER.

or.

  • Go to TOOLS.
  • Go to POP-UP BLOCKER.
  • Uncheck the TURN ON POP-UP BLOCKER.

Netscape:

  • Go to TOOLS.
  • Go to OPTIONS.
  • Go to SITE CONTROLS.
  • Check the ALLOW UNREQUESTED POP-UP WINDOWS.
     

Install Java

  • Make sure the latest Java Software is installed on your computer.
  • Uninstall all versions of Java before installing the new version.
  • Follow the instructions in the attached document to proceed: (Java PDF)
  • Go to http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp for the free download.
