Vehicle Policies & Forms

To address safety and liability concerns, a campus working group developed, and the president approved, two policies relating to the use of (1) college-owned and leased vehicles and (2) personal vehicles in connection with college-sponsored activities. These policies can be downloaded by following the links below. In addition, a print copy of the Personal Vehicle Policy is available for review in the Office of Campus Security and Safety.

The policies contain important information about driver eligibility requirements, insurance coverage, and the responsibilities of employees and students who use college-owned or -leased vehicles or personal vehicles in connection with college-sponsored activities. We encourage you to read the policies carefully and direct any questions to your supervisor, the director of campus security, or the director of business and auxiliary services.

Driver Training

A safety training program provided by the college's insurance carrier has been arranged for all drivers of 15-passenger vans. This program is offered to the campus community on a regular basis. You must participate in the training to be eligible to drive a college-owned or -leased 15-passenger van. If you would like to participate in a training session, please contact risk management at risk.management@goucher.edu.

Driving Record Authorization

Drivers must annually disclose a driving record from the applicable state DMV for the past 3 years. A copy of the Driving Record Authorization Request Form is attached (the college will obtain the driving record once the individual submits the request form). However, some states or countries do not permit anyone other than the individual licensee to obtain their record. In these instances the individual is responsible for obtaining a copy of their driving record through the applicable DMV.
