Associate Professor of History Evan Dawley has received a Fulbright award to Taiwan for the 2024-25 academic year. Dawley will be conducting research on the republic of China and its diplomatic relations with members of Chinese and Taiwanese diasporas from the 1920s to the 1970s.

Each year, the Kratz Center for Creative Writing at Goucher College offers summer writing fellowships that range from between $2,000 to $4,000. This year, the fellows are off in many directions, including Japan, Korea, Italy, Scotland, and the Dominican Republic, as they work on novels, poetry, essays, and more.

Associate Professor of Political Science and International Relations Julie Chernov Hwang has been selected as a 2024-25 Harry Frank Guggenheim Distinguished Scholar. Chernov Hwang will use the fellowship to build a database for conducting research on how ISIS, Al-Qaeda, and Indonesia's Jemaah Islamiyah construct terror cells.
